The B.Com (Accounting and Finance) programme was introduced in 2021 under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) with the Learning Outcomes-Based Curriculum Framework (LOCF) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The programme aims to meet the growing demands of the commerce and finance industry by providing students with a strong academic foundation along with practical exposure.

The curriculum is designed to cover major areas such as financial accounting, corporate finance, taxation, auditing, banking, insurance, and capital markets, enabling students to develop the knowledge and skills required for various professional roles in the financial sector. The department focuses on application-oriented learning, offering hands-on training in Tally, MS Excel for finance, basic data analytics, and exposure to industry-relevant financial tools.
