Public Administration, as a discipline, focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of public policies. The programme equips students with knowledge of administrative theories, governance structures, constitutional principles, public financial management, human resource administration, and public policy analysis. It also emphasizes democratic values such as equality, justice, accountability, and social equity.

The curriculum is designed to cater to students aspiring for UPSC, TNPSC, and other competitive examinations, while also preparing them for higher education in Public Administration, Law, Management, and Social Sciences. The department also contributes to interdisciplinary learning by offering Non-Major Elective (NME) courses such as Indian Polity and Governance for Competitive Examinations to students across departments.

Since its inception, the department has demonstrated consistent academic growth and student engagement.
